1.5: Multi-user Authoring
Faster Workflow - By allowing multiple authors to access the content simultaneously, the editing process becomes much more efficient. (e.g. While one author can be changing prices of products, another could be entering new product content, and a third could be arranging products into categories.)
Record Locking - When a user is working on a content element, it is possible to lock access to other users to avoid content loss through changes being overwritten by a second editor.
Content Owners - By assigning an owner to each piece of content, it then becomes possible to assign responsibilities to each of these content owners to ensure their data is current. If there is a problem with a particular content element, then the owner can be the first contact to resolving that problem.
Decentralised Authoring - Because the CMS handles the administration of multiple users, and the internet based nature of the CMS, it is possible to have authors editing content from any location, anywhere in the world.
Author Identification - Any changes made to content can be logged to the author who makes the changes. The owner of the content can potentially set who can access their data (by user or group) and also review any changes made and contact the author responsible for any particular change.
